Beezy is a slacker who expends great energy trying to avoid expending great energy. He has a long list of reasons why he can't do any given task, like the "debilitating" symptoms from his cat allergy. Beezy hates doing chores, and puts in just enough effort to keep his father, the Big Kahuna, disappointed. Incredibly spoiled, Beezy has a gold card, a pad over the garage, a hot rod collection, and three dungeons full of all the latest high-tech toys.
Brilliant and diabolical, Heloise heads up the Research and Development Dept. at Misery Inc. She may be all puppy dogs and sunshine on the outside, but this seemingly wholesome girl-next-door is more twisted than a pretzel on a rope in the eye of a tornado. Despite all this, she has developed a sweet spot for Jimmy. But no matter how good her intentions are, Heloise's evil side always wins out. Even her sweetest attempts at kindness seem to take on a nasty edge.
An eternal optimist, Jimmy sees every obstacle as an opportunity and every crisis as a lucky break. He makes the best of every situation. When he has to clean the dishes, he wages bubble wars against "the Grimies." Jimmy just can't resist a challenge. If he messes up, he's not ashamed to keep going 'til he succeeds-or at least regains consciousness. Once he gets an idea in his head, he doesn't give it up. And whether the denizens of Miseryville like it or not, his enthusiasm is contagious.
Nasty and brutish, this powerful Lord of Dimness is all commanding, but not nearly as important as he thinks he is. The latest in a long line of Heinouses bequeathed with the task of running Miseryville, much of his job description involves inspiring fear and panic. Wherever he walks, flowers wilt, dogs whine, and milk curdles. Yet, Lucius doesn't see himself as a bad guy, just a professional whose job is to maximize misery and diversify despair. One problem: he's not all that good at it.
Samy's got big dreams. He wants his 15 minutes of fame and he isn't afraid to shave a few seconds off someone else's clock to get it. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, he'll jump in any time he can to steal it, even from his boss. Before serving as Lucius's Assistant Executive in charge of Ego, Samy was an aspiring entertainer, though most of his acts were staged at home in front of his mom's make-up mirror. All Samy needs is a lucky break...or even the slightest bit of talent.
