Sweet, optimistic, and used to getting her way, Caitlin is a good student, but is sheltered and naïve when it comes to dating, cruel intentions, and the fact that working at the mall isn't just one big social gathering. She's vain, but not conceited, and always does sweet things for her friends, who feel protective of her. Girlie and boy-crazy, she assumes things will work out because they always have. Caitlin is an only child from a family of two doctors and is the apple of her parents' eyes.
The hip, hot tomboy, Jen can beat almost any guy in almost any sport. She's determined to become an Olympic snowboarding Betty, so her job at The Penalty Box would be pretty sweet if it weren't for Coach Halder breathing down her neck. Her experience in sports makes her a natural born leader, but she often offers unwanted tips to everyone.
Nikki is questioning and defiant with a punk rock edge, but not as tough as she seems. She loves to custom-rip clothes and hates fashion sheep. She considers it a sick twist of fate that she works at The Khaki Barn, the most generic store ever. DON'T expect Nikki to be cheerful. Her goal is to graduate, travel, then break into the music industry. Nikki's a "reality check" for her friends. Jonesy's interests can be summed up in two words: HOCKEY and CHICKS. He's a popular, confident, good-looking guy who gets invited to all the parties and who's probably going to peak in high school. He's clutch under pressure, a loyal buddy, and always willing to go for it. For someone so obsessed with chasing chicks, he has a super low success rate. Jonesy is the man with the scam, teases the guys for being wimps, and is protective of the girls. Jonesy gets fired from jobs ALL the time.
Wyatt is an old soul with a dry sense of humour. He sees parties and making out at the movies as strictly "for the cretins." He's into more cultural endeavours: a new jazz band, spiritual awareness, a great documentary about gun control... Well-read and mellow, Wyatt plays acoustic guitar, and is totally in love with Serena, his boss at Spin This. Wyatt often jots down his observations with the goal of one day writing a book. He doesn't love his job, but he does get discounts on new releases.
If it's extreme, Jude's done it, or it's on his list. With his pure, childlike outlook, he seems to be in his own world, but has an inner logic that makes others stop and listen. Jude is cool, sweet, and confident, though he often gets restless. He takes two things seriously: his friends and skateboarding. He's the confidant, although he's really bad at keeping secrets. Jude works at a food stand that serves up different foods on sticks every day; he feels this is the job he was born to have.
